US: Flash Flooding Hits Central Kansas, Governor Declares State of Disaster Emergency

Severe thunderstorms triggered flash flooding across central Kansas on Tuesday, September 9, prompting Governor Laura Kelly to declare a state of disaster emergency. Rainfall totals reached 1–4 inches in most areas, with up to 6 inches recorded near Salina. Floodwaters inundated roads and homes in towns such as Tescott and Brookville, where water reached porch levels and made driving hazardous.
